In an increasingly global marketplace, we recognise that all businesses have a responsibility to understand whether modern slavery and human trafficking is taking place within their supply chains or in any part of their business.
As a professional services company, Farrar Levin Legal Recruitment always works to the highest professional standards and complies with all laws, regulations and rules relevant to our organisation. We expect the same from our suppliers and business partners.
Introduction
Modern slavery encompasses slavery, servitude, human trafficking and forced labour. We have a zero- tolerance approach to any form of modern slavery. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity and transparency in all business dealings and to putting effective systems and controls in place to safeguard against any form of modern slavery taking place within the business or our supply chain.
Although we are proud of our stance to combat slavery and human trafficking, we will continue our commitment to improving our practices and procedures to combat slavery and human trafficking.
This statement sets out Farrar Levin Legal Recruitment’s actions to date and ongoing commitments to understand all potential modern slavery risks related to its business and to put in place steps, practices and procedures that are aimed at ensuring that there is no slavery or human trafficking in our own business and its supply chain.
Farrar Levin Legal Recruitment acknowledges its responsibility under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (“the Act”) and will ensure transparency is achieved within the organisation so the objectives of the Act are achieved on a consistent basis.
Our organisation
Farrar Levin Legal Recruitment is a professional recruitment services organisation dedicated to the recruitment of qualified solicitors and barristers into private practice law firms based in the UK, Channel Islands, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands and the Cayman Islands. We have an extensive client base of private practice law firms and a significant database of candidates seeking new opportunities within the legal profession.
Our policy on slavery and human trafficking
Farrar Levin Legal Recruitment is committed to acquiring goods and services for its use without causing harm to others. We continuously make reasonable endeavours to ensure all employees and agents within our supply chains are not subject to any form of forced, compulsory/ bonded labour or human trafficking and that they are paid in line with (or above) the national minimum wage.
All members of staff have a personal responsibility for the successful prevention of slavery and human trafficking, with the Directors of the company taking responsibility for overall compliance. This statement and associated documentation will be reviewed annually.
The following Farrar Levin Legal Recruitment Policies and Procedures support the Firm’s compliance with the Act:
Anti-Slavery Policy: our staff are required to adhere to our Anti-Slavery stance and our suppliers are also expected to adhere to the standards consistent with this stance and maintain compliance with the Act.
Equality and Diversity Policy: this emphasises Farrar Levin Legal Recruitment’s commitment to promoting equality and diversity by seeking to ensure that all individuals are treated fairly with dignity and respect, recognising and encouraging individual contribution within our organisation. Farrar Levin Legal Recruitment does not discriminate against employees, applicants for employment, other workers, clients or service providers on the basis of race or racial group, nationality, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation, religion or belief, age or disability.
Whistleblowing Policy: if our employees have any concerns about our suppliers or their supply chains or about any other wrongdoing or breaches of law, they are encouraged to raise these concerns in confidence without fear of disciplinary action.
Our supply chains
We have zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking. We expect all those in our supply chain and contractors to comply with our values.
We are a small company and so our supply chain is not complex and consists largely of the purchase of services and goods to support the delivery of our own services such as:
- IT and software
- Maintenance and facilities
- Equipment and materials eg. stationery and office equipment
- Legal, insurance and accountancy services
All our suppliers are UK businesses.
Our commitment going forward
Farrar Levin Legal Recruitment confirms its commitment to constantly reviewing its supply chains and working towards greater transparency and responsibility towards people working in them.
We will also raise awareness with our employees to ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business.
This statement is made pursuant to section 54 (1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our company’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the current financial year.
